 Working with Jonnie
1st November 2010:
1st Ride:  tongue still over bit a little.  Bit bracey. Just not on it this morning. Not listening to seat, started to follow feel a little better.  Wants to do his own thing.
2nd Ride - 22nd November
In the school with another horse - little nappie, but soon settled.  Lighten up to the feel, and started to move forward really well.  Bit nervous in the corners of new arena. In general steering, turning and brakes need a refreshing. Good stop. Nice walk. Nice ride.  Needs to follow the feel more before we start neck reining.  Loads well, saddles well, stands well, good natural impulsion will only need 4 or 5 more rides before he is a Secrets level.
3rd Ride 29th November
Lot less bracey than Cilla today.  Needs more rides, great disposition.  Had no problems in the snow. He listened
5th Jan - Front shoes fitted for trail work
4th Ride 10th Jan 2011
Helen’s report on Bluey:  7 miles hack around Carsington.  She found his brakes were brilliant, and he needs a good schooling session. They were on and off the horses today due to the black ice under foot.  He is not at all scared, and passed a lot of things today:  wooden bridges, top speed cyclists, trucks, biun lorry with flashing lights, sheep, through the visitors centre car park with moving cars and people, fencing repairs with machinery hammering and banging: loud noises  only a bit wary of the road surface, but nothing major and once he was on it he never looked back.  He is much better for his front shoes and she found that he really really takes care of you.  A lovely ride, and an amazing youngster.
Helen swapped over half way and rode Cilla
